Katie Hardy is the Assistant Director of Government Relations and Research at TEDCO (the Maryland Technology Development Corporation). In her role, she supports strategic legislative and policy initiatives and innovation ecosystem programs, along with coordination efforts across State agencies, legislators, ecosystem partners, consultants, and TEDCO internal teams. She also plays a critical role in advancing TEDCO legislation and budget priorities in the Maryland General Assembly.

Prior to TEDCO, Katie worked for six legislative sessions in the Maryland General Assembly, five as Chief of Staff to Delegate Lily Qi. In this role, she coordinated the Delegate’s policy initiatives, including the passage of several essential TEDCO initiatives, provided essential constituent services, and managed day-to-day operations. While with the General Assembly, Katie developed a comprehensive understanding of Maryland’s manufacturing community, innovation economy, and ways to increase Maryland’s economic competitiveness.

Katie holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and a master’s degree from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending her time reading, trying new Annapolis restaurants, and spending as much time as possible near the water.
