Maryland-based company seeks to utilize AI for event venue booking services

COLUMBIA, Md., (September 8, 2025) — TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announced Oaks Hospitality Group as a Concept Capital recipient. The Concept Capital program is part of the Venture Development department at TEDCO and is focused on bridging the early-stage funding gap for underrepresented founders across Maryland. With a focus on socially and economically disadvantaged and rural-based founders, the program offers convertible notes ranging from $25,000 to $50,000.
“The Oaks Hospitality Group is blending boutique hospitality with cutting-edge AI,” said Sharon Jackson Wilder, Esq. CEO and co-founder of Oaks Hospitality Group. “Spacii matches your venue with clients based on the vibe, capacity and more. The app is designed to also provide targeted opportunities that are worth your time since the space has been matched intuitively through the newest AI-technology. The platform will also talk to your clients for you, even if you’re sleeping – the AI robot assistant is always awake and ready to help, answer and book. Thanks to TEDCO’s support, we can fast-track our new platform and reimagine how event planners book venues across the region.”

The Oaks Hospitality Group, located in Cabin John, Md., is best known for its boutique inns (The Oaks Bed and Breakfast in Bethesda and The Oaks Inn Annapolis, MD), curated event experiences and project management. With the launch of www.getspacii.com, the company is looking to tackle the $100+ billion event industry— aiming to streamline venue discovery and booking with AI-powered technology.
“Innovation can be found in all environments; however, there are a few individuals who are at a systemic disadvantage,” said Justin Ferguson, innovation manger, Venture Development. “This is something we are looking to alleviate through the Concept Capital program. With early-stage funding, businesses have a better chance at success and through founder and business success, we see Maryland’s economic development accelerate.”
TEDCO’s Venture Development department has an arsenal of resources and opportunities geared toward supporting, guiding and uplifting founders on their business journey.
“As home to the top ranked place for families to live as well as for home and community safety, Maryland is a great place to grow a business and a family,” said TEDCO CEO, Troy LeMaile-Stovall. “Entrepreneurs looking for a place to call home need to look no further than here.”
