Panel to discuss strategies for launching your startup while earning your degree

COLUMBIA, Md., (September 9, 2025) — TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announces the panel “Student Entrepreneur Survival Guide: Building While Balancing,” taking place at the upcoming 2025 Entrepreneur Expo at The Hotel at the University of Maryland on October 21, 2025. This candid conversation will bring together student entrepreneurs and university collaborators to share first-hand experiences and practical guidance.
Balancing classes, coursework and a growing startup is no small feat. This session will explore how student founders can secure funding, access mentorship and tap into institutional resources, while keeping up academically. Panelists will also share personal stories of successes, setbacks and lessons learned along the way.
“Student entrepreneurs bring incredible creativity and energy to the startup ecosystem, but they also face unique pressures,” said Sephora Saint-Armand, equitech and ecosystem manager, TEDCO. “This session is about giving them the tools, insights and confidence to grow their ventures without losing sight of their education.”

Whether you’re a student with an idea or already running a growing business, this session will equip you with the skills to succeed both in the classroom and the marketplace.
