Attendees will learn how the financial reporting and compliance lifecycle shifts as companies grow

COLUMBIA, Md., (August 20, 2026) TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announces the session “Investor Ready Financials Across the Startup Lifecycle: What Founders Need at Every Stage” to take place during the 2026 Entrepreneur Expo. Attendees from around the world are invited to hear from three experts during the session at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor on October 27, 2026.

“Financial reporting and compliance regulations change across the company’s journey. The requirements at the company’s initial grant funding stage versus the expectations when scaling are vastly different, which can be confusing for founders,” said Sarah Sedlak of SC&H Group and session moderator. “This session aims to dive into this topic, walking attendees through the financial and reporting lifecycle for technology and life sciences startups.”

Using real-world examples, this discussion focuses on how founders can build a strong accounting and reporting foundation that evolves with their business – supporting investor diligence, grant compliance, payroll growth and future fundraising. Attendees will learn how financial systems, reporting expectations and compliance requirements change as new funding sources are introduced, as well as where common missteps occur when companies try to scale without the right infrastructure in place.

The three leaders sharing their experiences include:

•    David Narrow, Sonavex, Inc.
•    Geoffrey Lynn, Aletira Therapeutics
•    Sandy Hart, SC&H Group

This session is just one of many that are set to take place at the upcoming premier gathering, all carefully curated to support entrepreneurial growth. The Entrepreneur Expo promises a full day of interactive workshops, insightful discussions and dynamic pitches from emerging companies.

“Maryland was ranked the number one state for emerging venture capital investments, and we didn’t get there by asking founders to navigate their business journey alone,” said TEDCO CEO Troy LeMaile-Stovall. “The Entrepreneur Expo brings together the various resources, experts and opportunities for a single day of celebration, opening avenues for growth, collaboration and success. Through this event, we look forward to supporting the entrepreneurs, business owners, investors and thought leaders that power Maryland’s innovation ecosystem.”
