Healthtech company creating solution to support and increase efficiency for patients and clinicians

COLUMBIA, Md., (July 21, 2026) — TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announced a recent $200,000 investment into CurieDx. This investment came through the organization’s Social Impact Funds, which are dedicated to engaging and investing in economically underserved founders and communities.
“We believe that all patients deserve immediate, high-quality care when they are sick, and we are committed to bringing a solution that supports this,” said Therese Canares, CEO of CurieDx. “This investment from TEDCO will help us continue towards a diagnostics tool that allows for simpler, more precise diagnostics.”
Located in Baltimore, Md., CurieDx is a health-tech company aiming to create an AI powered solution for easy, precise diagnostics anywhere. By using AI technology, the company has developed a mobile application through which users can upload images of their throat for screening. Their product is positioned to potentially support and increase efficiency for both patients and clinicians.

“TEDCO was created to empower entrepreneurs, encourage growth and help lead innovation to market,” said Jean-Luc Park, deputy chief investment officer & senior director of TEDCO’s Social Impact Funds. “The technology-agnostic structure allows us to support eligible technology and life sciences-based companies across the state, including entities enabling medical solutions, like CurieDx.”
CurieDx started their journey with TEDCO in 2023 when the business joined the SBIR/STTR Proposal Lab. From there, they have been sure to utilize various programs and resources the organization offers, including the Network Advisors Program, the Maryland Innovation Initiative (MII) and DefTech. CurieDx also received an investment from the Social Impact Funds in 2025.
“Maryland is dedicated to supporting residents across the state – consistently ranking as one of the top states in the nation for healthcare and offering unique assets like the Chesapeake Bay, the C&O Canal trail and more,” said TEDCO CEO Troy LeMaile-Stovall. “Businesses and leaders looking to work, grow and relax should seriously consider the state for their next expansion.”
