UBII program will now offer Entrepreneurs-in-Residence to Baltimore City and Prince George’s County

COLUMBIA, Md., (May 15, 2026) — TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announces the publication of the Urban Business Innovation Initiative (UBII) Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Grant Program Request for Proposals (RFP). The updated program reflects TEDCO’s continued commitment to advancing Maryland’s innovation ecosystem by expanding entrepreneurial opportunities.
“By reimagining the UBII program, TEDCO takes the next step in expanding this initiative with more collaborators in Prince George’s County and Baltimore City, ensuring that Maryland’s urban regions have more equitable access to resources and capital needed to help them grow and scale,” said Troy LeMaile-Stovall, CEO of TEDCO. “This enhanced support is designed to help strengthen our state’s local innovation ecosystems and grow the next generation of founders.”
The entities selected will host experienced entrepreneurs within local organizations, who will collaborate with TEDCO to ensure EIR activities align with ecosystem goals. These goals include outreach, startup engagement, data collection, reporting and more. Qualified organizations based in Baltimore City and Prince George’s County are encouraged to apply to be one of the four awardees for the $25,000 grant.
“Through UBII, we’ve seen firsthand how a targeted approach to community-based support can advance commercialization efforts and open doors for early-stage companies,” said Graham Dodge, vice president of TEDCO’s Venture Development department. “This RFP starts a new initiative that allows us to seek more collaborators who understand their local ecosystem and can connect founders to the technical assistance, funding opportunities, and networks that support long-term growth here in the state.”
Interested applicants should respond to the detailed RFP, published here. The goal of this RFP is to receive proposals from potential firms, evaluate those submittals and select the one best suited to provide the requested services listed throughout the document.
All questions regarding the RFP must be submitted in writing to kzuccardi@tedcomd.com by June 5, 2026; all proposals must be submitted by June 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
