Javier “Javi” Mulé serves as a BRIDGE Advisor within TEDCO’s Business Resource Information, Development, and Guidance Ecosystem (BRIDGE) Program, where he works directly with entrepreneurs and small business owners across the Mid-Atlantic region. In this role, Javi helps participants assess their current business needs, identify growth opportunities, and navigate the pathways necessary to reach their next stage.
Through personalized guidance, he works to connect BRIDGE clients with access to capital, technical assistance, strategic planning support, and the wide range of resources available through TEDCO and its collaborators—aiming to ensure that every business has a trusted advocate to help them move from where they are today to where they aspire to be.
Javi is a professional leader with 15 years of experience building entrepreneurship ecosystems across government, nonprofit and private sectors with proven success managing community-based programs that deliver real economic impact - particularly for underrepresented founders. He is passionate about empowering entrepreneurs to achieve their business dreams and overcome challenges.
Prior to TEDCO, Javi worked as a business coach at a leading Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC), where he helped small businesses grow and pivot especially during COVID-19, leading projects like the Resilient Business Corridor funded by J.P. Morgan Chase which focused on underserved areas in DC's Wards 8 and 7.
While working in the public sector with the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD), Javi coordinated and managed programs to remove barriers to entrepreneurship such as the Dream Accelerator for Ward 7 and 8 in Washinton D.C, and launched the first ever DC Government sustainable fashion initiative (ReFashion) to support sustainable fashion business in DC with small business technical assistance, market access, and funding which led to the awarding of $50,000 to DC-based businesses built on circular business models.
In the private sector, Javi has extensive experience in the fashion and retail e-commerce space working in marketing, product development, logistics and business strategy areas as part of the founding team at Peter Manning NYC in New York City, the first direct-to-consumer brand for men 5'8" and under, and later served as the e-commerce manager at George Washington's Mount Vernon.
Javi also served in the U.S. Navy from 2000 to 2007 on the USS Enterprise and at US Joint Forces Command. He holds a Bachelor's of Science in Political Science from Excelsior College, an Associates of Applied Science in Fashion Merchandising & Marketing from the Art Institute of New York City.
