TEDCO has announced its 2017 ICE award recipients, and two of the six winners have connections to Johns Hopkins. On May 25, AsclepiX CEO Wendy Perrow was named entrepreneur of the year, and Glyscend received an award for innovation.

The Maryland Stem Cell Research Commission has awarded $8.5 million to 29 projects that will explore how human stem cells can regenerate heart tissue, treat muscular dystrophy and sickle cell disease, and aid diabetes management, among other medical conditions.

The Maryland Stem Cell Research Commission has approved awards of more than $8.5 million for companies and research institutes to address more than 20 diseases and conditions. The money will be spread among six companies and six research institutes in the state.
