COLUMBIA, Md., (March 12, 2026) — TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announced the latest round of awardees for the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Matching Funds (Matching Funds) program.
“We are excited to be able to offer the new round of the SBIR/STTR Matching Funds program to strengthen awards received and support business growth,” said Julia Deng, director, SBIR Programs. “We were able to support seven companies in this round, and we are grateful to everyone who applied and look forward to have the opportunity to provide more support in the future.”
Created to strengthen the power of the SBIR/STTR awards, the Matching Funds program fosters job creation and economic development in Maryland by promoting the commercialization of research, facilitating technology transfer and encouraging SBIR/STTR program applications.
The $371,875 will be divided across the seven awardees for this round, including:
1. AI Sense, located in Ellicott City, Md. – Phase I Matching for $25,000
2. HBVtech, located in Rockville, Md. – Phase I Matching for $25,000
3. Marvel AI LLC, located in Glen Burnie, Md. – Phase I Matching for $25,000
4. ImmunoBlue, LLC located in Bethesda, Md. – Phase II Matching for $75,000
5. GoVoBo, located in Bethesda, Md. – Phase II Matching for $71,875
6. Lo Biosciences, Inc, located in Rockville, Md. – Phase II Matching for $75,000
7. TauMat, LLC, located in Silver Spring, Md – Phase II Matching for $75,000
The quarterly cycle offers two funding levels – Phase I awardees can receive up to 25% of their award, capped at $25,000. Phase II awardees can receive up to 25% of the award, capped at $75,000. “With more than 70 federal laboratories across the state, it is no surprise that Maryland holds the number one ranking for Federal Tech Transfer facilities and ranks ninth in the country for amount of SBIR awards,” said TEDCO CEO, Troy LeMaile-Stovall. “According to past data, small businesses in the state have received $139.8 million through the SBIR Program.
